The Home Share Program is a unique matching service between a Seeker, someone that needs a place to live and a Provider who wants to rent a room out in his or her house. It is international model that has proven successful in almost all of the United States. The program, the first of it’s kind in Florida. covers all of Pinellas County.

Inquiries are taken both by phone and internet. The preferences as requested on the initial application are recorded in our data base. All applicants are required to pass a criminal background check as well as provide references. The providers are interviewed in their home to assure safety of the match. Each match is done according to personality, location, and many other issues such as age, gender,smoking, pets and other features. A joint meeting is arranged between both parties at the provider’s house. The home share staff is there to introduce the seeker and the provider. There is then an opportunity to get to know each other and decide if the match will proceed s absolutely voluntary on each side. Once the match is made a home share agreement and lease are signed. The typical rent paid is between $400 to $550 a month. Due to the severe financial situation in are country, many are paying higher taxes, insurance, or rent. Foreclosures and unemployment rates are high than ever.

Unlike many programs across the country who served primarily senior citizens, our program is multigenerational, serving people of all ages.

Each seeker must have income that will pay the agreed upon rent. First month’s rent must be paid before the seeker moves in. This may be a limitation for young participants without a steady income, or anyone on a fixed income.
