Directions for Mental Health
To improve the quality of life of individuals, families and our community by providing a wide variety of high quality services for all ages, ranging from the prevention of problems to the effective treatment of mental illness.
Mental illness can affect anyone – a neighbor, a co-worker or a friend. It’s not just a problem for the homeless or drug addicted. In the United States, mental illnesses account for more disability than any other disease category, including heart disease. Despite this alarming statistic, one of every two people in need of mental health treatment will not receive it.
At Directions for Mental Health, we offer hope, recovery and compassion while restoring a person’s dignity and quality of life. We strengthen families and prevent the need for more expensive care. We help build healthier, safer communities and reduce crime, homelessness, drug abuse and child abuse.
